yeah but it gets backed up in iTunes, so after you install 2.0 or whatever, it will re-sync everything, unless you deleted them from iTunes

you don’t neccesarily have to restore it unless you jailbroke your ipod. i’m pretty suree..

it worked for me but this is what i did i downloaded the 2.1 and then i restored my ipod. when i tryed to update it (holding shift) i got error 6 but when i restored it (holding shift) i selected the 2.1 update and it took a while but it worked

Hey,
I downloaded the 2.1 firmware and i followed your instructions but it didnt work… so instead of ctrl+Check Updates I did ctrl+restore and it worked!

ive downloaded the same link millions of times and it still doesnt work. in various other tutorials the saved icon on the desktop is different than mine. mines is an .zip file and even when i extract it and hit the shift+restore thing i open the folder and there are empty folders but when i open them in the desktop i see that they are files in there. what am i suppossed to do. i dont understand how come everyone elses is working and not mine.

Hell yeah man. THANKS. Im pumped. This helped alot, except 1 thing) whenever i cliked the update button and shift it didnt work, but after i did the shift and restore and it worked!

can some1 please tell me how to update to 2.0 on a mac? PLEASE!!!! i tried it and it downloaded this 2.0 firmware but itunes wouldnt let me open any of the files so i compressed it and tried that but itunes wouldnt let me open that file either so please help me!!!!!
