hi man this video is so helpful thank you so much! I was wondering, how did you got the youtube audio for the bush video to get into goldwave???

  2. originalbunglist Says:

if you have followed the video and goldwave has recorded no sound u probably need to go to your soundcard settings and select where it records from, best to have it set to “what you hear” if you have that option, depends on ur soundcard. if its an external soundcard then i think you have to hardwire it back through somehow, if its built in there should be an option for recording somewhere.

I did all the steps, but mine says unsupported format in the nn-xt, can you help me?

  5. souljaworldtv Says:

is it b/c it’s 5MB’s why I’m having this prob.?

  6. originalbunglist Says:

cant rememebr what the default save as format is but make sure you pic “wave”, it might save as mp3 the 1st time you use it, let me know if it does and I’ll put a note on the video. I think 5mb should be fine to use in goldwave but I dont think i have used that much in nn-xt b4 as even when i use a whole acappella I chop it into at least a few sections sections, and somtimes word by word depeding on the vocal

    hey Originalbunglist…
You seem to use vocal samples quite a bit…i’m trying to figure out a way (or program) that can speed up samples without changing their pitch. I know a couple programs but can’t yet find one that:

    a) can export as .mp3 or .wav
    WHILE ALSO BEING
    b) free… haha

anyways, any suggestions would be appreciated.

just noticed on the goldwave site at the bottom of 1 page it says this—–
“Files are limited to 4GB on FAT32 partitions. Use NTFS with Windows XP/2000 to create larger files”

dunno what the feck their on about but that might help.

  12. originalbunglist Says:

I think you have got confused with their message, they just want you to buy the full version, this is a fully functioning demo, 150 clicks per session

  13. originalbunglist Says:

+ if u dont like goldwave, just use audacity or any of the other free wav editing software. the point of this video is to show how to use samples in reason, not how to get the free software.

  14. beefalie Says:

HI this was a very helpful video. Thanks so much for posting. I may need some help. I did all as you said. (I actually used Free Wave Editor instead of GoldWave to make my wave file). I initialized in NNXT and I expanded, loaded, and shrank to one key. NNXT does show my sample in the sone and it has the title of my sample, BUT when I click on it (as you did) it does not play back. The sample I loaded was large, like 35MB, could this be the problem? Or is there something you can help me with? THX

  15. originalbunglist Says:

if u click on it in nnxt blue screen you have to hold alt and click mouse at same time for it to play. if your clicking on the sequencer page + still no sound then i’m guessin it must be file size, not to sure why u would have a file quite so big?,if ur using a full acappela, chop it into bars (like 8 or 16 beats at a time), or it will take u forever to edit each section of the tune….. reason will only play the sample from the start so you’d have to listen t the whole rack just to edit middle

  16. Domenicozzo Says:

I’m new to Reason… is possible to import a wav file and use as a note of the keyboard with different pitches depending on the key you press?

  17. Domenicozzo Says:

I was you can do it in NNXT but it changes me the speed, I don’t want the speed changed, only the pitch: is thaht possible? thanks

  18. originalbunglist Says:

Yes u can import a sound and use it at different pitches, just dont shrink the zone when you import it, you may just want to shrink it to 2 octaves worth of keys as you probably wont need the very high+ v low keys, then you can put a couple of sounds on 1 keyboard.

  19. originalbunglist Says:

no, if you want to change pitch but not the tempo (speed) you will need to use something with “time compress + expand” tool, like soundforge. what sound are you trying to use? is it a bass/piano/synth etc or is it vocals?

  20. Domenicozzo Says:

thank you, I tried to use a 2 secs composition of piano played by me… so, if it’s not possible to keep the tempo constant, evidently nobody use this technique… mmmh… tbtw hanks you very much for the hot tips!

  21. originalbunglist Says:

have you tried just recording one long key, then just re-compose the 2 second bit u done using the sequencer in reason

  22. Domenicozzo Says:

eh, I don’t know how to do that, I mean use the sequencer

  23. originalbunglist Says:

the screen thats not 2the rack” the bit with the keys running down the left and a graph type thing, you can just sample on key (as long as possible) from your piano then draw it on the graph thing. there are loads of decent built in piano samples so u could just use them?

  24. chison11 Says:

hey thanx alot for this…but i recorded the sample and everything and the sound wasnt quite the same as the original, it sounds a little weak as compared to the original which sound more full….what sould i do???

  25. originalbunglist Says:

maybe check the record volumes on you soundcard settings, also look for record quality, sometimes the default is rubbish.

edit sound in goldwave use “maximise volume”/
